Man gets life term for raping minor

THE VICTIM HAD GONE TO ANSWER THE CALL OF NATURE, WHEN THE ACCUSED, VICTIM’S NEIGHBOUR, KIDNAPPED AND RAPED HER

HISAR: A local court on Friday awarded life imprisonment to a man convicted for raping a minor girl in Hisar district.

Pronouncing the verdict, the court of additional district and sessions judge Dr Pankaj also slapped a fine of Rs 21,000 on accused Vikram (27), who is a neighbour of the victim, a student of Class 11.

Victim’s counsel BS Boundiya said the incident took place on November 21, 2017.

He said the victim had gone to answer the call of nature, when the accused kidnapped her, took her to some secluded place and raped her.

Boundiya said the accused, after raping the victim, threatened her of the dire consequence if she disclosed the matter to anyone and fled the spot.

He said that on the basis of the victim’s statement, the police had registered a case under Sections 363 (kidnapping), 366 (abduction), 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence and the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. .
