However, when one of the cars, in which Jitender’s father Rajender Saini was travelling, reached Gangayach toll plaza on NH-71, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to tyre burst and rammed into a truck coming from the opposite direction.

Rajender, 60, Papender, 52, Daksh, 7, Prachi, 7, and Kaku, 5, were killed while two others sitting in the car were injured and admitted to a hospital. The incident occurred just five km from the venue of the wedding.

Celebrations turned into mourning as the news of the mishap reached the relatives. Around five hours after the mishap, Jitender, on the advice of elder relatives of his family, agreed to solemnise the marriage.

A CCTV of the accident has also emerged, which shows the speeding car ramming into the truck that was almost stationary after collecting its ticket from the toll plaza.
