Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, Gurdaspur shares its border with Pakistan. Both Beas and Ravi rivers pass through the district and it is on the banks of the Ravi where the historic Darbar Sahib gurdwara in Kartarpur stands. The corridor will come up at Dera Baba Nanak area of the district. A predominan­tly rural seat, it has 11 lakh rural and 3.6 lakh urban voters. 2017 (byelection): Sunil Jakhar of Congress by 1.93 lakh votes
