I’ve put in best of efforts to serve people

-

What were the high points of your five-year term?

Delhi Metro has been made operational till Ballabhgarh; Kundli-Manesar-Palwal and Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal expressways, six flyovers on Delhi-Faridabad-Agra NH-2, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University and Smart City status.

One thing you wished to do as an MP, but couldn’t; why?

I wanted to do more to make the place clean, better maintained and check the unhygienic conditions. I also wanted to make Faridabad a IT hub on the lines of Gurugram to generate jobs.

Would you like to contest again? Why should people re-elect you?

Of course; though I will abide by the party’s decision. People have seen my work. They also know the policies and functioning of my party. In last election, I urged people to vote for the BJP to save the country from corrupt politicians. This time, my request to them is to make the country grow and prosper.

How was your experience in Parliament?

Very satisfying. I have served my constituency to the best of my ability. My attendance in the Lok Sabha was 100%.

There are voices from some quarters within BJP over illegal mining, illegal bus operations. Your take.

I know it. Such allegations are baseless and I have slapped defamation cases on those who accused me. My rivals are frustrated as their very existence is under cloud, so they are making such baseless accusations.

Four-time Congress MP Avtar Bhadana is now in BJP and he is interested in contesting from Faridabad. Your take.

A decision in this context is party leadership’s prerogative. He is a respected member of our party. He is with us and with me. What else can I say?
