Students clash with stranded passengers
JAMMU : A scuffle broke out between a group of students and some stranded Kashmir-bound passengers outside the Gandhi Memorial Science College here on Monday.
The students came out of the college to protest against the pro-Pakistan slogans raised by the passengers, while protesting against the failure of the administration to evacuate them to the Valley.
More than 3,000 passengers had gathered here for their registration at a hostel for their subsequent airlifting by the IAF to the Valley.
After the authorities said that only 200 passengers can be accommodated, the stranded passengers staged a protest. Five students suffered minor injuries as the police resorted to lathi charge and lobbed tear gas shells to stop them.
