Rajeev Kumar may be quizzed by CBI again today
SHILLONG: Questioning of Kolkata Police commissioner Rajeev Kumar and former Trinamool Congress MP, Kunal Ghosh, by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Saradha chit fund case continued on Monday.
Kumar was questioned until 7pm and was asked to return to the CBI office on Tuesday morning. Ghosh’s interview ended an hour later, following which he was allowed to return to Kolkata, an official of the agency said.
CBI officials on Tuesday said that both Kumar and Ghosh were questioned together for a considerable amount of time.
Talking to reporters while leaving the CBI office, Ghosh said he “participated in the confrontation session with Rajeev Kumar,” but, refused to divulge any details.
A CBI official on condition of anonymity said that they were also questioned on the multicrore rupee Rose Valley chit fund scam.
Chozam Sherpa, investigating officer of the Rose Valley case reached Shillong on Tuesday for the interrogation.
