MIZORAM BRINGS ORDINANCE TO PUNISH LOCKDOWN VIOLATORS
NEW DELHI: The Mizoram cabinet on Sunday brought in an ordinance making punishment for lockdown violation more stringent and giving more power to state manage Covid-19, a day after Rajasthan brought in a similar ordinance. The state cabinet held a crucial meeting chaired by chief minister Zoramthanga that approved ‘’The Ordinance for Containment and Prevention of COVID-19’’ that seeks stringent punishment for those violating lockdown, said a statement issued on Sunday. The Cabinet also decided that the government will facilitate the return of its residents stranded in other parts of the country, officials said.
