Monday sees a sharp rise: 3,861 new cases

NEWDELHI: The number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in India grew by 3,861 on Monday, the second time in the last three days that the nationwide tally registered a record spike, pushing the total confirmed infections across the country to over 46,000.

Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu together accounted for more than half of the new cases recorded on Monday, logging 1,567 and 527 fresh infections respectively.
