Delhi court issues production warrant against ex-J&K DSP
JAMMU: A Delhi court Thursday issued a production warrant against Jammu and Kashmir police officer Davinder Singh, who was arrested while ferrying two Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terrorists in a vehicle on the SrinagarJammu Highway earlier this year. He will be produced before the court on May 18.
The court directed the authorities of Hiranagar Jail in Jammu and Kashmir, where Singh is currently lodged, to produce him before the court. “We will abide by the court orders. However, the national investigating agency (NIA) will decide whether Singh will be brought to Delhi or the hearing will take place via video conferencing,” said superintendent of the prison Dy SP PK Modi.
Singh has been kept in a separate cell in the Hiranagar prison. The court also issued production warrants against three other accused persons Javed Iqbal, Syed Naveed Mushtaq and Imran Shafi Mir arrested in the case. HTC
