MAN HELD FOR ₹28-LAKH THEFT

FATEHGARH SAHIB: The district police have arrested a man for theft at Pradeep Steel and Agro Industries. On March 17, two persons had allegedly stolen Rs 28 lakh from the office of the firm. Cops have recovered Rs 10 lakh of the stolen amount and impounded the vehicle used in the crime. The second accused is still on the run. Harwinder Singh alias Kala, of Mandi Gobindgarh, was arrested while Dhiraj Kumar, of UP, is absconding. SSP Amneet Kondal said a case of theft was registered at the Mandi Gobindgarh police station. She added that Harwinder is already booked in four cases under the NDPS Act. HTC
