NURSES DESERVE GREATER PRAISE AND PAY

This refers to Lalita Panicker’s “Valuing nursing can transform health care” (May 3). Nurses are the cornerstone of the health care system. Apart from their competence, they are known for their compassion in dealing with patients. Their long working hours and insufficient pay speak of the disregard that the health system has for them. They deserve our praise and higher remuneration.
