Ex-PM Manmohan Singh admitted to AIIMS in Delhi

NEWDELHI: Formerprim­eminister Manmohan Singh was admitted to the All India Institue of Medical Sciences (Aiims) in Delhi on Sunday evening after he reportedly complained of uneasiness.

The 87-year-old veteran Congress leader was brought to AIIMS around 8.45pm on Sunday.

Even though AIIMS officially did not confirm, sources in the hospital said he was admitted in a wardatthec­ardio-neuroscien­ces (CNS) tower.

“He was brought late in the evening, and has been admitted.

He is stable and currently under observatio­n with specialist­s examining him,” said the hospital source.

Singh has a long history of heart ailment, and even underwent a revision heart bypass surgery in 2009. He was the country’s prime minister between 2004 and 2014.

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot expressed concern over the health of the former. “Much worried to know former PM Dr Manmohan Singh ji has been admitted to AIIMS. I wish him speedy recovery and pray for his good health and long life,” Gehlot tweeted. HTC & AGENCIES
