NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY DAY: TECH ESSENTIAL FOR SURVIVAL, SAY CITIZENS
Technology is at the heart of most things, which is making our lives better amid the lockdown. In this era of social distancing, technology is constantly helping us sail through and making it more bearable.
Today, on National Technology Day, people from different walks of life share how technology has been a saviour for them, especially in the last few weeks.
Rahul Dahiya, a Delhi-based student who is preparing for his MBA entrance exams, says, “I am able to study without much hassle all thanks to online material. When you buy a book, it costs much more, but they are available for free at the National Digital Library. One should cash on this.”
Even teachers are happy that they are able to use technology to educate their students. “We have to complete the syllabus and make sure that our students don’t suffer. It’s all possible due to various apps and platforms. I have no doubt that technology is playing a crucial role in this pandemic,” says Medha Gupta, a teacher at a school in Gurugram.
Not just education, but even dance classes, cooking tutorials and fitness sessions have remained accessible, all thanks to technology.
Green Park resident, Monika Gupta says, “I get to attend yoga classes with my in-laws from the comfort of my house. I used to attend them before as well, but then I had to travel. Now, I can practice yoga along with my parents to keep us fit, thanks to technology.”
Even corporate professionals who are working from home are all praises for technology. Amit Yadav, who works in an MNC, says, “Throughout the day, I am glued to video calls, sorting out one project after the other. I wonder what would have happened to my job had it not been for technology and its tools.”
