STOCKS GIVE UP GAINS ON RISK OF SECOND WAVE
MUMBAI: India equities closed lower as investors weighed the risk of seeing the coronavirus spreading faster with the country easing its lockdown. Stocks had rallied earlier in the day on expectations of a bigger fiscal stimulus following an increase in the government’s borrowing target. The S&P BSE Sensex was down 0.3% to 31,561.2 at the 3:30 p.m. close in Mumbai, while the NSE Nifty 50 Index slipped 0.1%. Investors remain cautious after China and South Korea reported fresh virus cases after a gap.
