Actor Gurmeet Choudhary’s efforts, in these stressful times, are focused towards making people smile. Knowing that his posts on social media will have an impact on his followers, he exercises caution. “Actors ko bahut log follow karte hain. So, it’s very important for us to understand what we are putting out there. Par hum log bhi insaan hain, galti ho jaati hai. I try to share information that’s authentic. A lot of people have extra time at hand now and they don’t know what to do. So the fun posts that Debina (Bonnerjee; actor and wife) and I share are mostly to entertain our followers,” he says.

Choudhary, 33, feels that humans are good at adapting.

“Not everything is in our hands. But our thoughts are. So why not make it positive and constructive? Do things you enjoy to divert your mind,” adds the actor, who admits that even actors have work-related worries. But the couple isn’t letting the stress bog them down. “Everyone is worried — be it those in our industry who earn ₹500 a day or the ones who make a crore. The film I was shooting for and Debina’s TV show had to be stopped… It won’t be an easy ride when things open either. But we are prepared, crossing one hurdle at a time,” he says. Meanwhile, his shows Ramayan, Geet and

Punar Vivah have retu n TV. Getting nostalgic, he says, “Those initial days were so different. Ramayan gave me popularity. Geet helped me to break stereotypes that people thought I’d fall into. Many said that my career is finished. Then Punar Vivah happened... God has been kind.”

During the lockdown, the couple is bonding over little joys such as watching films and shows together. “Her parents are with us. My parents are with my brother, who has been blessed with a boy. I want to go home (in Bihar) the moment travel is open.”
