Manpreet’s father Gurdas Badal passes away

MOHALI: Gurdas Singh Badal, father of Punjab finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal and younger brother of Shiromani Akali Dal patriarch Parkash Singh Badal, died at Fortis hospital in Mohali on Thursday night.

Fortis director Abhijeet Singh confirmed the death. Gurdas Badal, 88, a former member of Parliament, was admitted to the hospital on April 20 as he suffered from multi-organ failure. Manpreet’s mother, Harminder Kaur, had passed away in March. She was suffering from age-related ailments.
