Govt to consider framing guidelines for film-making
NEW DELHI: The Information and Broadcasting ministry is considering coming out with guidelines with filmmaking in the time of social distancing as it has received representations from the sector that has faced the brunt of the Covid-19 pandemic with a lot of activity curtailed.
According to a government official, the ministry has received requests regarding the difficulties that the cinema industry has faced and is considering ways to find a solution. “The ministry has received representations from different quarters and is considering. It is being looked at if guidelines can be framed,” said the official adding that even if any such norms are released, they would be subject to the local pandemic situation.
“There have been meetings on the issue and the ministry is also in touch with representatives of the entertainment and the film industry,” said the official cited above. A large part of the entertainment industry is centered in Mumbai, which as a city has been severely impacted by the onslaught of the Covid-19.
