Interstate ops: Hry Roadways awaits states’ nod

CHANDIGARH: The Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP-JJP coalition government is waiting for nod from eight states to resume bus operations on at least 28 interstate routes. The Haryana government has shot off letters to states in this regard.

CHANDIGARH: Haryana government on Tuesday ordered that only 50% shops will open in congested marketplac­e in municipal areas during Lockdown 4.0. The norm will not apply to standalone, neighbourh­ood, residentia­l area shops, and stores selling essentials, industrial goods and hardware items.

Additional chief secretary of urban local bodies department, SN Roy, who issued guidelines on Tuesday, said all municipal bodies will identify congested markets, bazaars, fruits and vegetable markets, commercial shops on both sides of the streets. “The deputy commission­ers and municipal commission­ers will hold meetings with market associatio­ns to decide which set of shops would open on a particular day,” Roy said. Restaurant­s and food aggregator­s like Zomato and Swiggy, which have been permitted to operate kitchens for home delivery of food, have been asked to conduct daily thermal scanning and regular medical check-up of the kitchen staff and delivery boys.

NO SWIMMING, BODY TACKLING SPORTS

Meanwhile, the sports and youth affairs department on Tuesday ordered that training activities in stadiums should be performed in small groups (maximum 8-10 persons) maintainin­g a distancing of 1.5 to 2 metres between athletes and staff. The aspects of training which required physical contact like tackling and body blocking should be avoided. Athletes who are less than 18 years of age will have to provide an undertakin­g from their parents. Swimming pools will stay closed.

Personal sports equipment – bow, gun, sword, javelin and rackets – will not be shared by the players and must be disinfecte­d after every use. Sports-specific safety equipment such as helmets, eye and face protectors are not to be shared, the guidelines said. The state government has also ordered that attendance for groups A and B staff shall be 100% and 50% for groups C and D. In case any office has sufficient office space to ensure 100% attendance with complete observance of social distancing norms for all the groups of employees, they may do so, said the guidelines ..
