1,195 migrants leave for UP

GURDASPUR: As many as 1,195 migrant labourers stranded in Gurdaspur amid lockdown were sent back to Uttar Pradesh by a special train from the local railway station on Tuesday. Gurdaspur Gorakhpur train will stop at Bareilly and Gondapur railway stations to drop migrants. Each one was provided two bottles of water, grams, biscuits, jaggery and fruits for consuming during their travel. Gurdaspur DC Mohammad Ishfaq, SSP Swarndeep Singh, ADC Tejinderpa­l Singh Sandhu and MLA Barinderme­et Singh Pahra were present at the railway station. The labourers were medically screened before boarding train.
