Four cops among 36 new Covid-19 patients in Haryana

CHANDIGARH: Four Haryana Police personnel from Faridabad were among 36 new Covid-19 patients registered in Haryana on Tuesday. With them, the number of positive cases in the state reached 964.

Senior doctors said three infected cops were posted at Faridabad’s Sector-55 police station, while one worked at Saran police station. They said all their contacts have been quarantine­d. The remaining nine cases reported from Faridabad were a mix of contacts having Delhi links. Likewise, nine new patients, including three women, detected in Gurugram were also primary contacts of already infected persons, some of whom were associated with vegetable trade.

THREE CASES IN HISAR

Three persons, including two women, were tested positive for Covid-19 in Hisar, chief medical officer Dr Yogesh Sharma said, adding that the 38-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter contracted the disease from her husband, who had recently returned from Noida. The third patient, a 50-year-old man from Jind district, had returned from Mumbai recently.

2 FOUND INFECTED IN DADRI, AS MANY IN ROHTAK, JIND

Two persons tested positive in Dadri, one of whom is a native of Dhikara village and a Mumbairetu­rnee, and the other is from Jhajjar who was staying in a rented accommodat­ion in Dadri. A 20-year-old youth, who had returned from Surat, tested positive in Rohtak, while a 50-yearold cancer patient, who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Jind, was also found infected.

In Panipat, two persons, including a 35-year-old man from Harinangar Colony and a 31-year-old labourer of Samalkha Mandi, tested positive. A 40-yearold man with travel history to Delhi tested positive in Karnal.

3 DIST FREE OF VIRUS

Ambala, Yamunanaga­r and Sirsa on Tuesday became Covid-19 free as all patients there have been cured and discharged. Meanwhile, 29 patients were also discharged on Tuesday.

P’KULA: COVID PATIENT DIES AFTER TESTING -VE

A 63-year-old woman from Panchkula died of heart failure about an hour after testing negative for Covid-19 in her second test. The woman was undergoing treatment for esophageal cancer at a private hospital.

Panchkula Covid-19 nodal officer Dr Rajiv Narwal said the woman was shifted to the local civil hospital on Monday after taking leave against medical advice (LAMA) from the private hospital.
