Graduating during a pandemic is certainly not a pleasant experience, and coping with submission deadlines and managing online presentations is only amplifying students’ struggle.

Pranav Gupta, a Delhi Technological University student, says, “This year, we presented final submissions over google meets, and I will give the final presentation on a video call. It is not a nice experience as our teachers aren’t physically available to guide us.”

And the challenges are eerily similar across different streams. Sukriti Mittal, a students at National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), rues over being unable to complete her final collection, and says, “By this time, we usually showcased our collections. But the production work has stopped, and now we need to wait for units to resume.”

On how the crisis has extended her graduation process, Suhani Bhati, another NIFT student, says, “It is difficult to settle with the fact that we might never get back to college. The delay is stretching our graduation. We might be graduating through online portal and might have to submit incomplete collection.”
