STUDENTS’ BODY MOVES ANTI-CAA PLEA IN TOP COURT

NEW DELHI: The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) poses hindrance to the protection and preservation of the culture and identity of Assamese people, a plea filed by a Guwahati-based organization of Assamese law students told Supreme Court. The apex court issued notice to central and Assam governments and tagged the matter to be heard with other similar petitions challenging CAA.
