80,000 migrants leave from Jalandhar

JALANDHAR: The state government has so far spent Rs 4.37 crore on Shramik special trains to facilitate around 80,000 migrants to their native states by Friday. Two trains left from city for Siwan (Bihar) and Buxar, respective­ly, on Friday. Both trains carried 3,200 migrants from the district who were stranded here during lockdown. The state spent Rs 8.88 lakh for travel of migrants to Siwan, and Rs 8.89 lakh for Buxar amounting to a total of Rs 17.84 lakh.
