A FESTIVE FEAST FOR A CAUSE
Eid is a festival of togetherness and gratitude, and Michelinstar chef Vikas Khanna has taken the lead by feeding around two lakh people in Mumbai. “Through this one month (of Ramzan), I wanted to show the world our solidarity, especially in the current times, and how the country can come together and be united through food,” says Khanna, who has also taken up the arduous task of distributing six million cooked meals and dry rations in over 79 cities. “We started this in various cities according to the demand. I was also self-paying in the beginning, and was thinking of the cost in so many ways,” he says, adding that he was later assisted by many helping hands.
And till when does he plan to continue it? “Till the time I have the energy, I will continue. I have never left a job mid-way,” he replies.
