36k illicit liquor bottles seized during lockdown in Ambala range

AMBALA: Police in Ambala, Yamunanagar and Kurukshetra districts have seized more than 36,000 bottles of illicit liquor since the lockdown was imposed. ADGP (Ambala Range) Alok Kumar Roy said they arrested 297 people and registered 209 FIRs under the Excise Act. “Similarly, 44 drug peddlers were arrested in the Ambala division and 29 cases were filed. 997 people were arrested for violating lockdown, while 18,648 drivers were challaned and 1,414 vehicles impounded,” he added.
