Trump threatens to suspend visas of Chinese students

WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he would end Hong Kong’s special trade status and suspend visas of Chinese graduate students suspected of conducting research on behalf of their government, escalating tensions with China that have surged during the coronavirus pandemic. China retorted, saying ending the privileges for Hong Kong “grossly interfere” in China’s internal affairs.
