Dinkar Gupta empanelled for central deputation
CHANDIGARH: The appointments committee of the Union cabinet has approved the empanelment of Punjab director general of police (DGP) Dinkar Gupta as DG/DGE.
According to an official spokesperson, Gupta is one of the 11 IPS officers --- of the 1987 batch which originally had over a 100 officers --- from across the country to be empanelled to hold DGP-level as well as DG-equivalent posts at the Centre. He is also the only IPS officer from north India (Punjab, Haryana, HP, J&K, UP, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan) on the list. HTC
