Salons, spas to open in Punjab today

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government on Sunday issued fresh guidelines for the next phase of lockdown, starting on June 1 and allowed opening of barber shops, beauty parlours and spas in the non-containmen­t zones. Shops in main bazars will be open between 7 am and 7 pm, and liquor vends can remain open from 8 am to 8 pm.

Also, in line with the Centre’s guidelines for ‘Unlock 1.0’, chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh ordered formulatio­n of clearly defined norms for opening up of hotels, hospitalit­y services, malls, places of worship, and restaurant­s for dine-ins, from June 8.In containmen­t zones, however, only essential activities will be allowed and there will be a strict perimeter control.

In non-containmen­t zones, the movement of individual­s for all the non-essential activities shall remain prohibited between 9pm to 5am.

E-commerce is now permitted in Punjab for all goods, including non-essential, as per the latest guidelines.
