CHANDIGARH: As the Centre’s instructio­ns to shorten curfew hours from 9pm to 5am will come into effect from Monday, the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) has written to the administra­tion, demanding relaxation in shop timings. Charanjiv Singh, CBM chairman, said shops should be allowed to open till 8pm. He added that shopkeeper­s should also be allowed to open shops on Sunday. CBM president Anil Vohra said letters had been sent to all officials including UT adviser, deputy commission­er and MC commission­er. “We have been assured the issue will be discussed in war room briefing on Monday,” he said.
