‘PROTESTS WILL SPREAD VIRUS’

Public health experts and government officials are warning that large street protests over racial inequities and excessive police force could worsen the spread of the coronavirus. The protests are bringing together hundreds, sometimes thousands, of people just as the US is reopening after lengthy Covid-19 lockdowns. “We’re talking about reopening in one week in NYC and now we’re seeing these mass gatherings over several nights that could exacerbate the spread,” NY Governor Andrew Cuomo said.
