Moosewala firing case: Pre-arrest bail pleas of six dismissed

SANGRUR: The Barnala court has dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of six persons on Tuesday.

Harinderpal Singh Ranu, counsel for social activist Ravi Joshi, said, “ASI Balkar Singh; head constables Gurjinder Singh, Gagandeep Singh; constables Jasbir Singh, Harvinder Singh; and Jangsher Singh, son of DSP Daljit Singh Virk had sought anticipatory bail but the court rejected it.”

Barnala police had booked Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and eight others after a video surfaced in which he was seen firing from an ‘official’ assault rifle.

The case was registered under Sections 188, 120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act and relevant sections of the Arms Act.
