Mental health has been a major talking point amid the pandemic and the ongoing lockdown, and those struggling emotionally are being motivated to speak up. Actor Pulkit Samrat, too, advocates the same. He also urges everyone to be compassionate towards those having a difficult time coping.

“The current uncertain times are disturbing, but you can’t spend the lockdown getting anxious or irritated. That will further disturb your mental peace,” Samrat says. His Instagram feed highlights how he is trying to get through this period positively. “If you are in a bad state of mind, you’d end up snapping at people, getting irritated. It’s happening with many. The best way to avoid that is by doing things that take away the stress. I’ve been enjoying baking with whatever is available at home,” he adds.

The actor feels the more one worries about the future, the more it affects you. “Rather, figure out ways to cope. I say this after learning from my mistakes, the ups and downs I faced,” he suggests, adding, “Lessen your screen time. Filter out the negativity and fake news.”

Samrat, 36, also believes that one must not hold on to guilt. “If you think you’ve made a mistake, compensate. But don’t feel guilty for oversleeping or overeating on a particular day. We all have such days,” he shares, adding, that his family, his girlfriend Kriti Kharbanda (actor) and his dog, Drogo, help him cope with his bad days.
