₹650-CRORE PROJECT
The highly polluted Buddha Nullah is one of the major civic problems in Ludhiana. On January 6, state cabinet approved a ₹650-crore project to rejuvenate Buddha Nullah The local bodies department told to complete the twophase project within three years; the first phase is to be completed within 18 months from the award of the tender The revival plan aims at constructing sewage treatment plants (STPs), pumping stations, and effluent treatment plants for dairy complexes to control pollution levels in the stream
Of the total amount, ₹342 crore is be spent by the state government,₹208 crore by the Centre while the private operator will pump in ₹100 crore
