480 Covid cases take Guj tally past 20K mark

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat recorded 480 new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) on Sunday, which moved it past the 20,000 mark, according to the state health department. At present, Gujarat has 20,097 cases, said officials.

The death toll increased to 1,248 as 30 more deaths related to Covid-19 were recorded on Sunday, according to the health department.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad crossed the 1,000-mark on Sunday, reaching 1,015, as 21 people succumbed to the infection, a health official said.

A total of 319 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday, taking the number of recovered persons to 13,643, according to the health department.

Currently, there are 5,205 active cases in the state, with 69 patients on ventilator support. The condition of 5,138 others is stable.
