PAK SHELLS FORWARD AREAS IN RAJOURI; INDIA RETALIATES

JAMMU: The Pakistan Army on Wednesday opened heavy fire on Indian posts and forward villages along the LoC in Naushera sector of Rajouri district prompting India to retaliate in equal measure. Defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said, “At about 7:30am, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation initially using small arms and then intense shelling with mortars along in Naushera sector.” A senior police officer said a few houses were partially damaged and a goat was killed in the shelling.
