ORN FRITTERS

200g corn kernels, 150g all-purpose flour, 2 chopped medium-sized onion, 1 chopped green chilli, ½ inch chopped ginger, 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, 3tbsp cooking cream, ¼ tsp garam masala powder, 1 pinch of asafoetida, salt as required, ½ cup water, oil as required for frying

Method

Boil corn kernels with a pinch of salt. Drain it once boiled. To make fritter patty, add corn kernels and sliced onions in a bowl.

Next, add ½ inch ginger and 1 green chilli.

Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, asafoetida, and salt as required. Mix well. Now add all-purpose flour. Add water and mix very well. Add cream and prepare patty with semi-firm consistenc­y Heat oil in a pan to either shallow fry or deep fry.

Fry the patty in medium heat till it looks crisp and golden. Remove the fried corn fritters with a slotted spoon and drain to remove excess oil. Serve them hot with tomato sauce or any other sauce of your choice.

While serving, sprinkle some chaat masala on corn fritters.
