CERN IN PUSH FOR NEW COLLIDER
NEW DELHI: The European Organization for Nuclear Research, popularly known as CERN, was expected to announce its plan to build a successor to the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) after a vote on Friday. The new €20bn collider is to be a 100km circular tunnel, six times as powerful as the LHC and is referred to as the Future Circular Collider. It would help scientists hunt for particles at higher energies.
