392 SIM CARDS DEACTIVATED IN HARYANA
CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Police on Saturday said it has got 392 SIM cards that issued on forged documents deactivated between May 12 and June 15, in view of the rise in online frauds using such cards.
Additional director general of police (law and order), Navdeep Singh Virk, said a probe by cyber crime unit led to identification of 685 mobile SIMs issued on fake and forged documents by the mobile service providers.
The department of telecommunications was approached as a result of which 392 mobile numbers have been deactivated by the service providers, he said.
