VB seizes testing record of pvt lab

AMRITSAR: Vigilance bureau on Saturday seized Covid-19 testing record of a private lab Tuli Diagnostic Centre in Amritsar.

The vigilance’s action comes 10 days after Amritsar civil surgeon Dr Jugal Kishor had written to the Punjab health department, demanding action against the private lab.

“The record of the patients who were tested there will be scrutinized,” said SSP (vigilance), Amritsar range, Parampal Singh. Some residents, including a pregnant woman, who were first declared positive for the coronavirus by the said lab, were later found negative by the Amritsar Government Medical College (GMC’s) viral research and diagnostic laboratory (VRDL). The lab has stopped Covid-19 tests.
