40GM GOLD, JEW­ELLERY LOOTED FROM AMRITSAR SHOP

AMRITSAR: Four mis­cre­ants looted gold and jew­ellery worth around Rs 1.5 lakh at gun point from two work­ers of a jew­ellery-shop-cum­res­i­dence at Guru Bazaar about 1pm on Sun­day. Po­lice said the men, with their faces cov­ered, had ar­rived at the shop on a mo­tor­cy­cle and on a Honda Ac­tiva scooter.

The loot hap­pened on the third floor.

THREAT­ENED AT GUN­POINT: WORK­ERS

As­sis­tant com­mis­sioner of po­lice (ACP) cen­tral Parvesh Cho­pra, who reached the crime spot af­ter the in­ci­dent, said, “Work­ers say that on be­ing threat­ened with a gun, they handed over 40gm old gold be­long­ing to cus­tomers, a chain and a ring to the mis­cre­ants. We have scan­ning CCTV footage of the mar­ket to iden­tify the ac­cused.”

A case has been reg­is­tered un­der Sec­tion 379-B (theft by force) against the ac­cused.
