BIG BREAKFAST
A major meal-plan change during lockdown has been a scrimping on or skipping of lunch in favour of a big breakfast. “Breakfast sets the gut into functioning mode. A balanced meal of protein, carbohydrates and fiber combination is a good breakfast. Those who eat this tend to eat less junk food during the day,” said Bipasha Das, a senior nutritionist in Delhi who runs the Sugati Centre for Diet and Wellness. “A high-fiber breakfast of slow-release carbs prevents midmorning sugar cravings. A fruity French toast with homemade juice or an apple-oats-berries-almond smoothie are good options.”
