PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding that streaming services airing serials, films and movies through the internet in the form of Over-the-Top (OTT) media servives should be brought under censorship so that viewers does not get assess to inappropriate content. In his letter, chief minister Kumar has said the streaming services have content that are not censured and subscribers easily get access to content having high load of violence, sex and obscenity that puts a negative impact on the minds of people, especially children and adolescents across the country. He said airing of such content was not good for viewing for longer duration and already creating societal problems, including crime against women and children. He added society must act against such trends as the price of inaction was likely to be very high.
