2 arrested with 12,600 bottles of liquor in Sangrur

SANGRUR: Police arrested two persons with 12,600 bottles of illicit liquor here on Monday.

Superintendent of police Harinder Singh said that a checkpoint was set up in the outskirts of Bhawanigarh town on Sunday to nab the accused who were carrying illicit liquor in a truck with fake registration number.

The accused have been identified as Gurbaj Singh alias Guri and Deepak of Sunam town. The police have also booked four persons in the matter.

A case was registered under the Excise Act at the Bhawanigarh police station.
