PHONE SEIZED FROM JAIL, 3 INMATES BOOKED

KAPURTHALA : A mobile phone, SIM card, battery were recovered from Kapurthala Modern Jail during checking on Monday. The police registered a case in this connection against three jail inmates under Section 52A of the Prisons Act at Kapurthala police station. The main accused has been identified as Taranjot Singh, a resident of Puranashala in Gurdaspur. A team led by assistant jail superintendent Paramjit Singh conducted a surprise inspection in different cells and recovered a mobile phone with a SIM card, battery, and charger from the jail premises.
