CHANDIGARH: A head constable of the Chandigarh Police was hospitalised after he was dragged for 50 metres by a jeep driver, who was stopped at a check post on Tuesday.

The naka was put up near the Motor Market in Sector 48, where a black jeep with a Punjab registration number was signalled to stop by head constable Varinder Singh. Just when Varinder put his hand in for documents, the driver sped off. Cop’s left hand was stuck in the window but the driver kept going. He was admitted to GMCH-32, with injuries. A case was registered, but no arrests have been made so far. HTC
