TAKE THE BULL BY ITS HORNS

Apropos ‘Jail Dy Supdt booked for corruption’ (June 24), the incident is just the tip of the iceberg. Corruption in our country is so deep-rooted that even BPL families are forced to cough up a bribe to avail basic public services. The malice can be attributed to the nexus between politicians, bureaucrats, criminals and businessmen. The government is aware of the rot but lacks the will to take the bull by the horns. Government departments ought to be made more accountable.
