PUNJABI SINGER PREET HARPAL APOLOGISES TO AKAL TAKHT

AMRITSAR: Punjabi singer Preet Harpal on Friday tendered an apology to the Akal Takht for a song he sung on the social media, which was termed objectiona­ble by the Sikh community. In the song, he mentioned Guru Nanak. The manner he mentioned Guru Nanak was opposed on the social media. Harpal visited Akal Takht secretaria­t with a written apology and handed it over to the personal assistant of acting jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh. In the letter, he wrote, “I did not intend to hurt anyone. Being a Sikh, I respect the Guru and cannot think of desecratin­g him.”
