The total number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in India crossed the 500,000-mark as a handful of states including Delhi and Maharashtra continue to add thousands of daily new cases, driving the surge with the outbreak appearing to be accelerating with no peak in sight. While it took the country 78 days to cross the first 100,000 cases, the latest 100,000 have come in just the last six days
