~1-cr robbery plan foiled in Delhi, cop injured in shootout

NEW DELHI: Four men, who were allegedly planning a robbery of ~1 crore at a senior citizen couple’s house in Ghaziabad were arrested after a brief shootout in Vinobapuri metro station in South Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar in the early hours of Wednesday.

Two bullets were fired by one of the suspected robbers. One bullet hit the bullet proof vest the station house officer (SHO) of the Lajpat Nagar police station was wearing. One bullet was fired from the police side but it did not hurt anyone, senior police officers said. HTC
