Karan Avtar is chairman of water regulation authority
CHANDIGARH: Four days after he was removed as the chief secretary, Karan Avtar Singh was appointed as the chairman of Punjab water regulation and development authority by the state government.
Sushil Gupta and Surinder Singh Kukal have been appointed as members of the newly-formed authority that will manage critical water resources in the border state.
On June 26, Karan Avtar was posted as special chief secretary, governance reforms and public grievances after Vini Mahajan’s appointment as chief secretary. Sources, however, said he had not joined his new posting and proceeded on leave.
